India has been to a lot of saints and spiritual leader since centuries. These saints not only gave discourses on spiritual devlopment but also were also instrumental for various scientific and educational development. They were pioneer in doing research in the field of Astronomy, mathematics, philosophy and other field of study for example Aryabhatta calculated the distance between earth, moon and sun. Ancient Indian scholars also did a great work regarding the time calculation, solar system and position of stars and planet.
One scholar has said that since India used to change the day at the sunrise which is usually at 5.30am in India and the world were following that calander. Because of this time difference England was changing the day at mid night. So when England was able to rule the maximum part of the world the spread the system of changing the day at midnight and Unfortunately India also followed the same system without understanding the logic for changing of the day.
